Dr. Dolphus E. Milligan Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2004 by Mr. William E. Shack Jr. in memory of his uncle. Mr. Shack (CC ’65) was a successful auto dealer in California and Nevada. He is the founding president of the Black Ford Lincoln-Mercury Dealer Association and also of the National Association of Minority Auto Dealers. Mr. Shack also served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Rainbow-Push Coalition for 15 years. He is primarily responsible for more than 25 men and women becoming auto dealers and facilitated hundreds of management and employment opportunities for minorities. He became an active and valuable member of the CAU Board of Directors in 2000. Dr. Milligan was recognized as a famous scientist. He has his BA from Morehouse College, MS from Atlanta University, Ph. D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. His experimental studies led to 78 publications until his death at the age of 45.
