Lamond Godwin Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by friends in the memory of Mr. Godwin who passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 1988. Lamond Godwin received his B.A. Degree from Clark College in 1964, his M.A. from the University of Illinois in 1967 and did post graduate study at the Institute European d’Administation des Affaires in France.

During his illustrious career he served as a political advisor to Jesse Jackson; a program consultant to the Ford Foundation; a senor consultant to the Rockefeller Foundation; a professor of labor at Rutgers University; a Resident Fellow at the Institute of Politics in the Kennedy School at Harvard University; Vice President; American Express Bank, Ltd; and President of Smith-Barney/Shearson Asset Management in Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Godwin was a devoted alum of Clark College and later Clark Atlanta University and served on the Board of Trustees of both Institutions with distinction.
