Lauren H. Solomon Endowed Scholarship

Lauren H. Solomon Endowed Scholarship was established in 1994 in honor of Ms. Solomon by the Conference of Minority Transportation officials in Atlanta. Lauren H. Solomon was the first African-American and first woman employee of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) in various positions from May 11, ,1970 until her death on March 30, 1988.

In memory of Lauren, COMTO-Atlanta has established an Endowed Scholarship in her name at her alma mater, Clark Atlanta University. COMTO-Atlanta is committed to continuing her enthusiasm and dedication to transportation.
