Luther and Mytrice Stripling Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1966 by Dr. Luther Stripling (CC’57) as a memorial to his wife Myrtice (CC’60), and a tribute to his love of the University.
Dr. Luther Stripling graduated with a AB degree from Clark College in 1957, and a MMUSIC from University of Kentucky and a DMA from University of Colorado. He was a professor of Music at CAU from 2003 to 2005. He is a widely known versatile singer who has received the highest level of critical acclaim for the baritone voice in numerous recitals, orchestral and operatic productions. The St. Paul Pioneer Press compared his beautiful voice to William Warfield’s.
Mytrice Stripling received an AB Food and Nutrition Degree from Clark College n 1960 and a MA Administration from Texas Women’s University. Her career included teaching in five elementary schools from Georgia to Kentucky to Minnesota to Missouri. At the time of her death, she was an Instructional Specialist in Fort Worth, TX School District.
