Our Lady of Lourde Annual Scholarship

Our Lady of Lourde Annual Scholarship

This scholarship was established in December 2014 by John C. Mayoue, an Atlanta attorney. John is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes, the oldest African-American Catholic Church in Georgia. He saw a need for financial assistance for children of the congregation interested in and qualified for college education at a nationally respected and established university. Mr. Mayoue received his undergraduate degree from Transylvania University and his law degree from Emory University. He is involved with and supports the Monroe Moosnick scholarship at Transylvania, for the benefit of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, and the Willard F. DeWitt scholarship at Emory, designed to benefit and attract law students with disabilities. Mr. Mayoue also serves as a counselor at Camp Sunrise, is active with Compassion International and a volunteer with Compeer Atlanta.
