Pliney and Ethel Jenkins Graduate Scholarship
Ethel Christler Jenkins was a member of the last undergraduate class at Atlanta University and the University’s first graduating class in which Masters Degrees were awarded. She had a great love for the School of Social Work, which she felt had prepared her so well for her working life. Her special area of interest was the developmentally disabled. Her husband whom she met in 1931 at Gammon Theological Seminary was a U.S. Army Chaplain and later a minister. Funding for the Endowment was left to the University by the estate of Pliney and Ethel Jenkins.
