The Margaret and Cato Roach Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was formed by a provision in Mr. Cato Roach’s will, which left endowment funds to Clark Atlanta University. Cato and Margaret’s two sons, Harold and Eric helped to write the guidelines for the scholarship. Mr. Cato Roach was the Director of Special Programs for the Broward County Florida School System. He passed away March 30, 2000.

Ms. Margaret L. Blake was a 1930 graduate of Clark University (AB Elementary Education) and in 1949 received a Masters Degree in Education from Atlanta University. She was an active Alumna and became a member of the Clark College Board of Trustees and in 1988 and sat on the Clark Atlanta University Board. She was a very involved trustee who deeply loved her Alma Mater. She was a Curriculum Analyst with Broward City Schools and was also on the Board of Trustees of Broward Community College. Ms. Roach passed away July 16, 1999.
