William E. Shack Close The Gap Scholarship
William E. (Bill) Shack is an entrepreneur, businessman, civic leader, and auto industry pioneer who has owned and/or co-owned and sold 14 automotive dealerships on the West Coast including Yucca Valley Ford, Miramar Lincoln-Mercury, Queen City Ford, Shack-Findlay Honda and Manhattan Beach Ford. Upon selling all of his interests in the automotive industry, Mr. Shack’s business interests have expanded to include housing development, construction, real estate, and entertainment (Jabara Records, “Hitzville the Show”).
Mr. Shack was founding president of the National Association of Minority Auto Dealers and member of the political action committee of the National Auto Dealers Association. He previously served on the National Urban League Senior Advisory Board and currently serves in leadership capacities with Rainbow-PUSH and the PUSH International Trade Bureau.
In May 2006, for his many contributions to Clark Atlanta University, Mr. Shack was awarded the honorary doctorate degree.
